Bayern Munich ran out comfortable 4-0 winners over Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday, but the loss of Joshua Kimmich to an injury in the first half was a sour note.
“‘Jo’ went into the game with a knock. He’s being examined right now, so I can’t say anything yet. But he didn’t go off voluntarily. Hopefully it’s nothing serious, but you never know,” Bayern board member for sport Max Eberl told DAZN.
Club president Herbert Hainer also weighed in, saying:
“It was probably something in his thigh. But the doctors said it’s probably not that bad.”
There was further concern for the Bavarians when Jamal Musiala received treatment and was substituted after making it 3-0.
However, Max Eberl insisted it was nothing serious and said the substitution was a “precautionary measure”.
“He is in the dressing room in good spirits,” he insisted.
