FC Augsburg run the risk of losing Under-19 star Berkay Aslan this summer, reports Sky Sports Germany journalist Kerry Hau.
Born in Landsberg am Lech, a town in southwest Bavaria, Aslan turned 18-years-old at the start of January and has already bagged 5 goals and provided 6 assists in 16 appearances for Die Fuggerstaders’ youth team.
A left winger by trade, the youngster has already represented Turkey at youth international level. Augsburg head coach Jess Thorup recently invited Aslan to train with the senior squad as they prepared for Bundesliga games.
With his contract set to expire in June 2025, a host of Turkish Super Lig teams have started to circle including powerhouse clubs like Fenerbache, Besiktas and Istanbul Basaksehir.
Sky Germany also reports interest from other parts of Europe like Feyenoord and PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands, as well as seven-time UEFA Europa League champions Sevilla from Spain.
Whether Augsburg will find time to sit down and negotiate a contract extension with Aslan remains to be seen. There is internal hope within the Bavarian club that he will stay and make the jump to the senior team in the not-too-distant future.
