Serie A giants Juventus had the lingering threat of Manchester City in January, when it comes to their full-back Andrea Cambiaso.
There were suggestions that the Citizens will soon make an offer for the player but it never came and Cambiaso ended up staying at the Bianconeri.
City’s offer would not have been enough for Juventus to sell Cambiaso but the player’s agent Giovanni Bia has spoken about the rumours.
In a chat with Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, via Gazzetta, Bia confirmed that talks were indeed true and Juventus will provide more details about what really happened.
He said: “Juventus will explain what happened, but I tell you that everything that came out in the papers in relation to the deal is true. It’s true that Guardiola wanted him .”
It was clear over the winter window that Guardiola was indeed quite keen on signing Cambiaso, who has been key to Juve’s season and has shown that he fits Thiago Motta’s perfectly. But for now, Juve get to keep the 24-year-old till the summer.
