As reported by Bild, Hertha Berlin have received an enquiry from Championship side Norwich City to sign 24-year-old Norwegian left-back Fredrik André Bjørkan on a season-long loan.
Bjørkan was signed in January from FK Bodø/Glimt on a free transfer. The two-time league champion has played 10 games across all competitions for Hertha and has four-years remaining on his current deal and so, a departure this summer would come as a surprise.
However, Bjørkan is yet to make it into Sandro Schwarz’ squad this season in both the Bundesliga and DFB Pokal.
Speaking about the Norwegian, Schwarz recently said: “We have a lot of players in the squad. it’s part of our job to make tough decisions. So far it has hit Fredi. It’s his turn, he has to keep the pressure on in training.”
Signed as competition for Marvin Plattenhardt, Bjørkan has struggled to establish himself in the squad after improved performances from the former. The Norwegian also faces competition from Maximilian Mittelstädt, who is also a sales candidate this summer.
