It was reported on Tuesday evening that Bayer Leverkusen had reached a full agreement to sell Victor Boniface to Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr for a reported fee in the region of €60-70 million.
However, Sky Germany has now pointed out that although all parties are in agreement, the transfer has not yet been finalized in writing, causing confusion.
The report suggests that Al Nassr are working in parallel to sign Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran, who is seen as an alternative to Boniface, and have tabled a €70 million bid for him.
They’re unlikely to sign both strikers, so which one will it be? From Leverkusen’s point of view, the transfer could fall through if it isn’t completed soon, especially as they need time to find a replacement.
Al Nassr don’t have much time, as the Saudi transfer window closes on Thursday, unlike the German one, which remains open until Monday.
