Steffen Baumgart has hit out at Anthony Modeste, saying the striker is struggling without the support he was given at FC Köln.

FC Köln coach Steffen Baumgart has taken a dig at Anthony Modeste following the French striker’s goalless start to life at Borussia Dortmund.
After scoring 20 Bundesliga goals for Köln last season, Modeste joined Dortmund for a fee around €5 million two weeks ago.
So far, Modeste hasn’t impressed in a Dortmund shirt, having failed to find the net in his first two appearances for the club, and Baumgart commented on the striker’s poor form on Sunday.
“That ‘Tony’ was something extraordinary for us is beyond question. But what made ‘Tony’ stand out last year was the team at his back,” Baumgart told DAZN.
“We’re seeing it right now, if a team doesn’t act like that, then maybe you don’t score as many goals as before. You have to say it that clearly.”
