Edinson Cavani in Madrid: “You have to go where they want you.”

Edinson Cavani was spotted arriving at Madrid airport and was asked about his future by El Chiringuito.

It is believed that the Uruguayan wants to play in La Liga and he has been linked with a move to Villarreal and Valencia. However, he did not reveal what team he would join to El Chiringuito’s cameras:

“I don’t know what team I’m going to play for. You have to go where they want you. I have several things but nothing concrete to be able to answer you.”

Nonetheless, Cavani did explain why he was in Madrid:

“I’m here for a lot of things, for the family, in order to prepare, to keep working and wait a little bit.”

At first, it appeared as though Cavani would join Villarreal. He would get regular playing time in the starting XI and also has a good relationship with Unai Emery, with whom he worked together at PSG.

However, Valencia have also entered the race to sign him as Genaro Gattuso wants to see the 35-year-old in his team.
