Jürgen Klopp has been officially introduced as Red Bull Head of Football this Tuesday at Salzburg and the former Liverpool FC manager has opened up on Ligue 2 side Paris FC. Red Bull owns a minority 10.6% stake in Paris FC following the Arnault family’s club takeover to implement an ambitious sporting project. Klopp was in attendance at a deserted Stade Charléty for Paris FC’s Ligue 2 clash against Amiens alongside Antoine Arnault and Red Bull Football Technical Director Mario Gomez. “The stadium is a stadium where you cannot create an atmosphere”, said Klopp in his presser. “It is long ago since I watched a game from that far and I was in the stadium rather than in front of the TV.“
Klopp said improvement was needed and changes were planned regarding Paris FC’s home ground, as Stade Charléty is mostly used for athletics. L’Equipe reported this week that Paris FC were close to reaching an agreement with Paris-based rugby union side Stade Français over the use of Stade Jean-Bouin, which is adjacent to PSG’s Parc des Princes.
Still, the German manager was full of praise for the table-topping Ligue 2 side – Paris FC are level on points with Lorient. “First impression is great people doing a great job. I think the circumstances are not fantastic and they are doing really well“, Klopp said. “They do really well, but there is improvement needed and that is where we will try to help with the Arnault family. There is a long way to go.
