VfL Wolfsburg have officially confirmed the appointment of Niko Kovac as their new head coach.
Taking over from Florian Kohfeldt, the former Eintracht Frankfurt, FC Bayern and AS Monaco coach has signed a contract until 2025 with ‘Die Wölfe’.
“I have a close bond with the Bundesliga, and I have great desire and motivation to begin another successful chapter with the Wolves,” stated Kovac.
Wolfsburg managing director for sport Jörg Schmadtke commented:
“In terms of filling the coaching position, it was important not only to find someone quickly, but above all to sign a coach, who can develop VfL Wolfsburg in the long term and take the club forward.
“That’s why I’m very pleased that we were able to convince Niko of our path. He stands for consistent and success-oriented work and I am convinced that the team will bear his signature in the coming years.”
