Borussia Dortmund have turned down an initial bid of €16 million plus add-ons from Aston Villa for Donyell Malen, according to Sky Germany.
The Premier League side have responded by upping their bid to €18 million plus add-ons, according to both Sky and The Athletic.
It’s doubtful that this will be enough to persuade Dortmund to sell, however, with Sky reporting that the Black and Yellows want more than €20 million guaranteed, and Ruhr Nachrichten suggesting they demand at least €25 million plus bonuses.
Nevertheless, it seems realistic that an agreement will eventually be reached, with both Dortmund and Malen reportedly keen to make the deal happen.
Malen has struggled for regular starts this season. He joined Dortmund from PSV in 2021 for a reported fee of €30 million.
