Bayern Munich’s preparations for the Bundesliga restart got underway on Thursday with three players returning from injury.
Josip Stanišić, who is yet to play in the Bundesliga under Vincent Kompany, returned to training in December and could be in line to feature against Borussia Mönchengladbach on January 11. Also returning is Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry, both of whom missed the Rekordmeister’s last games of 2024 with a muscular injury and a knee injury – upon their return, they will provide much-needed competition for Leroy Sané and Michael Olise.
João Palhinha and Sacha Boey continue rehabilitation
João Palhinha, who suffered a muscular injury while on international duty with Portugal in November, trained individually and is yet to return to team training, and the same goes for Sacha Boey who continues to recover from an ankle injury.
Hiroki Ito also returned to light running duties following his metatarsal fracture, but there is no time frame on the Japanese defender’s return to the first team.
