SC Freiburg have sent two of their young players out on loan for the second half of the season due to a lack of playing time in the first half.
Noah Weißhaupt was the first to leave Europa Park as he was sent on loan to fellow Bundesliga side St Pauli. The 23 year old has only played five times for Freiburg this season. Weißhaupt is a versatile player as he is able to play on the left or right wing and has even been used as a wing-back in the past.
Fellow Freiburg youth product Kenneth Schmidt has also left the club on a temporary basis. The 22-year-old has moved to Hannover 96 in the 2.Bundesliga. Die Roten have ambitions to gain promotion back to the Bundesliga and have recently fired head coach Stefan Leitl and replaced him with Andre Breitreitener. Schmidt’s move is the only one to officially be announced.
Jordy Makengo is also linked with a departure from the Black Forest. The left-back has fallen out of favour under Julian Schuster and has been linked with a move to Olympiakos in Greece reports kicker.
