Espanyol are in advanced talks with Diego Martínez, according to journalist Toni Juanmartí.
The former Granada manager is set to replace Vicente Moreno after the Spanish coach was sacked by the Catalan club near the end of the season.
The appointment of Martínez could be announced in the next few hours.
The highly-rated young coach has been previously linked with both Sevilla and Valencia.
