A new suitor have positioned themselves in the fray for the signing of on-loan Barcelona star Vitor Roque.
That’s according to Diario Sport, citing Brazilian outlet UOL Esporte, who point towards Palmeiras as the interested party.
Frontman Roque, of course, sealed a departure from Barcelona just this past summer.
After a hugely challenging first six months in Catalunya’s capital, the youngster was granted a move to La Liga rivals Real Betis, on a two-year loan.
And Roque has since gone on to establish himself as an important figure in Manuel Pellegrini’s squad, to the tune of six goals in 22 appearances across all competitions to date.
In turn, it may come as something of a surprise to hear of the striker, this weekend, being tipped for an upcoming exit from the Benito Villamarín.
As per a report from Sport, Brazilian giants Palmeiras have made contact with Roque’s entourage, with a view to a January return to his home country.
The operation is seen as a complicated one, particularly with Betis considering Roque an important player in the club’s project, but it is added that ‘Palmeiras would be in a position to pay more than 20 million euros plus objectives to reach a figure that could satisfy both Betis and Barça’.
