Ruben Vargas is looking to depart FC Augsburg.
As revealed by Augsburg sporting director Marinko Jurendic, the attacking midfielder has informed the club that he doesn’t want to extend his contract, which expires in the summer.
“Ruben has informed us that he does not want to renew his contract and that he wants to leave the club,” Jurendić is quoted as saying by Augsburger Allgemeine.
“We wanted to extend Ruben’s contract and even offered him a new one,” added the Augsburg boss.
Vargas could leave Augsburg as early as in January, which will be the club’s last chance to cash in on him.
Sevilla FC, Villarreal, Borussia Mönchengladbach and Eintracht Frankfurt have all been linked with the Swiss international.
