Center-back Marius Lode is officially no longer at Schalke, while defender Malick Thiaw could also be on the move according to WAZ.

It’s confirmed that Schalke central defender Marius Lode’s contract has been dissolved. Defender Malick Thiaw could also leave the club, per WAZ. The 29-year-old Lode came on a free from FK Bodö/Glimt in January, but only made 6 appearances. Lode’s contract was originally until 2024, but he’s now a officially a free agent.
Schalke Sporting Director Rouven Schröder stated that, “Both sides were not satisfied with the situation, so we sat down and decided to dissolve the contract. For us, it is a very good economic step, but Marius is free and can face a new sporting challenge.”
Thiaw is a 21-year-old Schalke academy product that featured 31 times in the 2. Bundesliga last year. While nothing is confirmed, Schalke are already in the market for at least one new central defender.
Midfielder Amine Harit could also leave the recently promoted side this summer.
