Serie A side Milan’s star midfielder Ismael Bennacer has now rejected the Rossoneri’s offer for a new deal.
Daniele Longo has reported about the Algerian’s situation, claiming that while Bennacer’s agent was in Italy last week, positive signs have not arrived for discussions regarding a new deal.
Bennacer’s current deal expires in the summer of 2024 and he earns €1.7 million per season. Milan’s contract offer was worth €3 million per season but Bennacer wants the club to more than double the current wage. As a result, there remains a distance between demand and supply.
There is a will from both parties to continue discussions for a renewal and contact can be made with Bennacer’s agent at the end of the window to talk more about a deal.
The Algerian has been linked with a host of clubs across Europe over the past year or so and Milan have already lost the likes of Hakan Calhanoglu, Franck Kessie and Gigio Donnarumma for free in the recent past.
