FC Augsburg have turned Arne Maier’s loan deal into a permanent move.
The 23-year-old midfielder, who spent the 2021/22 campaign on loan from Hertha, has now joined Augsburg permanently, signing a three-year deal with the option to extend until 2026.
“Arne Maier quickly became a key part of our team, despite missing some of pre-season due to the U21 EUROs and the Olympic Games. He has become a central figure in our midfield. We are very happy that we have been able to sign Arne to a long-term deal,” stated Augsburg sporting director Stefan Reuter.
“His talents as a footballer will be able to benefit us for many years to come. We are also convinced that he still has room to grow as a player.”
Arne Maier commented:
“FCA have shown a lot of trust in me, and I have felt very at home here right from the start. I’ve said it time and time again,”
“I’m very happy to be able to wear the FCA colours for the next few years as well. I’m looking forward to the new season and want to take on even more responsibility in order to enjoy a successful campaign with FCA.”
