With a rough end to the calendar year shaping up for RB Leipzig, the German Red Bulls are reportedly looking for upgrades in the coming January transfer window. Already linked with a move for former Eintracht Frankfurt scoring sensation Randal Kolo Muani, Marcel Schäfer and the RB administrative team may be preparing to make a play for SC Freiburg defender Max Rosenfelder.
The Freiburg-native has earned a regular starting role both for Julian Schuster’s SCF and Antonio di Salvo’s Germany U21s this season. Rosenfelder’s estimated market worth has shot up from €500,000 to €2.5 million in the past six months. Whether or not the 21-year-old can be plied away from his Breigau home remains to be seen. Rosenfelder last extended his deal with his academy club this past summer.
