With his elbow of Köln’s Florian Kainz in the waining minutes of the first half, Leipzig’s Dominik Szoboszlai was given a red card for his actions on Matchday 2. Now, the DFB is suspending the Hungarian international two matches for his conduct.
The 21-year-old will miss the upcoming contests against Union Berlin and Wolfsburg, as Leipzig are still searching for their first Bundesliga win of the season. A variety of Leipzig midfield options could play in his absence including Amadou Haidara, Emil Forsberg or Kevin Kampl. This is Szoboszlai’s first career red card suspension.
