La Liga giants Real Madrid are hopeful of bringing two leading members of the first-team setup at Bayer Leverkusen to the club in the near future.
That’s according to German football insider Patrick Berger, who has on Friday provided an insight into the situation.
First in the sights of the powers that be at the Santiago Bernabéu, as has long been rumoured, is Leverkusen headmaster Xabi Alonso.
Amid an ongoing search for a long-term replacement for Carlo Ancelotti, Spanish tactician Alonso has emerged as the priority target on the part of Florentino Pérez and co.
Real Madrid’s BayArena raid, though, will not end there…
This comes amid further confirmation that the European champions are also readying an assault on the signature of Florian Wirtz.
Continuing to make a name for himself as one of the game’s standout young players, Wirtz is considered something of a must-have in Spain’s capital, with a big-money offer for his signature therefore potentially set to arrive as soon as next summer.
