Leon Goretzka’s surprise start against St. Pauli doesn’t change the fact that Bayern Munich want to sell him, according to Kicker.

When Bayern Munich’s line-up for Saturday’s 1-0 win over FC St. Pauli was announced, Leon Goretzka was a surprise starter in central midfield alongside Joshua Kimmich.
However, this doesn’t change the midfielder’s situation, with Bayern Munich still keen to get rid of him, according to Kicker.
Goretzka has slipped down the pecking order since Vincent Kompany took over as head coach, with Joshua Kimmich, the currently injured Aleksandar Pavlovic and Joao Palhinha all ahead of him.
Goretzka, contracted to Bayern until 2026, has so far been reluctant to leave, instead trying to improve his situation.
Union Berlin boss Horst Heldt recently made it clear that he would welcome Goretzka with open arms should the midfielder be interested in a move to the German capital.
Whether that is realistic is open to question, however, with Goretzka having been linked with a number of big clubs in the past.
