The wait is almost over for what could be one of the most fascinating boxing fights of the modern era. A battle of the generations that symbolises two very different eras in the sport.
This Friday, the 15th of November, Mike Tyson and Jake Paul take to the ring in a truly unprecedented event that is expected to break records worldwide. The fight is going to be the first sporting event ever to be streamed live on Netflix, with the 80,000 seater AT&T Stadium, home to the Dallas Cowboys, playing host.
Of course, this fight has divided opinion in the world of boxing and beyond, with many seemingly unhappy that the rise of influencer boxing has reached this level. However, putting those kinds of views to one side and ignoring the deeper meanings surrounding the integrity of the sport, there is no denying that this fight has got the world on the edge of their seats.

Jake Paul & Mike Tyson Fight Purses
There could be a $20m difference in earnings
Reports have begun to surface this week about just how much both of these two fighters will be earning for this mammoth event. There is obviously no way of knowing the exact amount both will be pocketing, but many are reporting similar figures at this time and suggest that Mike Tyson will be paid $20m and Jake Paul will be making $40m.
Truly ridiculous numbers for both sides, with the obvious question being why Paul is reported to be making double what Iron Mike will earn. Again, we are not privy to the negotiations that went down during the build-up to this fight being official, but it has surprised fans online to learn that the legend of the sport will be getting less of a pay day.
Maybe this shows just how personal this is for Tyson, with more promotional content being released that has shown just how much distain Mike has for Jake Paul. Perhaps he was willing to be paid less just so he could teach this young guy a lesson and end this influencer boxing hype for good.
Another thing to point out is that these figures are just for the fight itself, with the pair likely to earn far more through things like sponsorships, ticket sales, and maybe even streaming numbers. For all we know, it could well mean that Tyson walks away with more money when all is said and done.

Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson is free on Netflix, but you could still end up being fined £1,000 if you aren’t careful.
Either way, the amount of money we are talking about is utterly ridiculous and is a reminder of how huge this event really is. There may have been bigger fights in recent years in terms of quality and jeopardy, but it is hard to think of a fight in recent memory that has got this many people talking, from both inside and outside the boxing world.
Fans can expect the ring walks for the main card to start at around 8pm ET (1am GMT), with Tyson and Paul likely to be in the ring for around 4am.
