The French National team has announced their squad on Thursday for the upcoming Nations League matches against Israel and Italy.
The biggest news from the publication of the French squad is the omission of Kylian Mbappé, who has now missed out on two French squads in a row.
The last time Mbappé missed out it was reportedly due to injury, a claim which was debunked very soon after when the striker played for Real Madrid against Villarreal in the League.
This time a reason for the Frenchman’s absence hasn’t been given, just that it was the decision of Didier Deschamps, who thought that it was the best course of action to leave Mbappé out.
In fact, according to the French coach Mbappé wanted to play, so we can rule out any involvement from the player’s side of things.
This omission raises questions about the current relationship between player and manager, and whether the last international break left a sour taste in Deschamps’ mouth.
Regardless of the reason, Real Madrid fans are likely not to mind that their star has a few matches taken off his workload.
