Serie A champions Inter take on Arsenal in the Champions League later today and Simone Inzaghi has been speaking to the press ahead of the game.
The Nerazzurri haven’t had the best of starts to their campaign and have dropped multiple points in Serie A. They were nearly held to a draw by Venezia at the weekend but the visitors had a goal disallowed.
Arsenal come into the game at the back of a loss to Newcastle United and it would certainly be an intriguing game to watch.
Inzaghi spoke to Amazon Prime (via CM) and he was asked about his comparisons to Sir Alex Ferguson. He said: “Can I be Inter’s Ferguson? We know it’s very difficult in our football. However, I’m very happy at Inter. I’m trying to make my path in the best way possible as I did at Lazio. I feel at home, I’m happy in this environment and I’m growing up.”
He was also asked about Arsenal and how similar their journey is to that of Inter in recent years. The Italian stated: “We had a similar journey with Arsenal, but if in other years by the fourth round you had something outlined in your head, this year you can do few calculations. We have to face each game at our best knowing that we’ll be up against one of the best teams in Europe.”
Both sides have an equal amount of points in the Champions League so far and a win for either of them could take them a step closer to progression into the next round.
