Mudryk reveals plan to stay at Shakhtar despite Leverkusen links

By Rune Gjerulff

As reported by Kicker earlier this week, Mykhaylo Mudryk looks increasingly likely to join Bayer Leverkusen this summer, with the player now admitting that he’s set to stay at Shakhtar Donetsk.

Earlier this summer, Mykhaylo Mudryk publicly revealed that he was interested in joining Bayer Leverkusen from Shakhtar Donetsk after ‘Die Werkself’ had shown initial interest in him.

However, after months of unsuccessful negotiations between the two clubs, the 21-year-old seems to have realized that he will not be moving to BayArena this summer.

“We sat down with the club management and decided that it would be better for me to stay for the time being,” the Ukrainian winger is quoted as saying in his home country.
