As confirmed on the club’s official website, Valencia have signed Nico González on loan from Barcelona.
The two sides have agreed a loan deal that will see the 20-year-old play for Los Che this season. González’s contract will run until June 2023 and Valencia do not have the option to buy the player after the expiry of the agreement.
Prior to signing for Valencia, the midfielder agreed a new contract with Barcelona that will keep him at the club until 2026.
González came through Barcelona’s youth system. He played 37 games last season for the Blaugrana in all competitions. However, in order to allow him to gain experience and support his development, Xavi and González agreed that a loan spell at another club would be the best option for both parties.
Nico González became Valencia’s third signing of the summer transfer window following the arrivals of Samu Castillejo and Samuel Lino.
