Tedesco reveals Werner could start against FC Köln

RB Leipzig coach Domenico Tedesco has revealed that Timo Werner is an option for Saturday’s Bundesliga game against FC Köln.

Timo Werner is a candidate to start against FC Köln after making a good impression in training following his move from Chelsea earlier this week.


“The first impressions of Timo were very good,” revealed RB Leipzig coach Domenico Tedesco at today’s pre-match press conference.

“We chatted about one or two things. I’m pleased that he’s with us. He’ll help us and is an option for Saturday’s game.

“Of course we have a lot of options, and Timo is a flexible player. He can play on the wing and is a great fit for a 3-4-3, on the left, on the right or centrally.

“I also think he’s exciting as part of a duo up front. We will see.”
