Max Eberl stated that Aleksandar Pavlović suffered a potential broken collarbone during Bayern Munich’s 4-0 win against Stuttgart in the Bundesliga Topspiel.
Eberl told Sky Germany: “He is currently being examined. It looks like he has a broken collarbone, which will take a little longer. We have always said that we need a deep squad. It is really, really dramatic for Aleks.”
As reported by Bild, Pavlović is expected to be sidelined for around six weeks.
João Palhinha replaced Pavlović after just six minutes after the latter landed awkwardly following an aerial duel with Fabian Rieder.
It’s the latest setback for Pavlović, who missed Euro 2024 through tonsillitis. After returning to fitness at the start of the season, the 20-year-old has since played nine games across all competitions for the Rekordmeister this season.
An integral part of Vincent Kompany’s squad, Pavlović will be a big miss for Bayern Munich but after playing just 209 minutes this season, it’s an excellent opportunity for Palhinha, or Leon Goretzka to work their way into the starting lineup.
