Johannes Eggestein doesn’t think it would have been undeserved if St. Pauli had taken a point against Borussia Dortmund.

FC St. Pauli were on course for a point when Eric Smith scored in the 78th minute to make it 1-1 against Borussia Dortmund at Signal Iduna Park on Friday.
However, Serhou Guirassy’s winner five minutes later gave Dortmund all three points.
The disappointment in the St. Pauli camp was palpable after the game, with Johannes Eggestein stating that he felt the visitors deserved more.
As the 26-year-old striker pointed out, the match could have been very different if Morgan Guilavogui’s 30th-minute goal for St. Pauli hadn’t been disallowed for offside.
“There was more in it today. We left everything on the pitch and were out of luck with the offside in the first half. It would have been a different game if we’d opened the scoring there,” Eggestein said.
“We were very solid at the back and we can build on that. We didn’t have many chances, though we did have some golden opportunities like the chance for Dapo early on and the one for Adam just before the end. If that had gone in, we’d have taken a not undeserved point. Unfortunately, we just fell short.”
