2. Bundesliga side Fortuna Düsseldorf have announced the signing of Jorrit Hendrix on a free transfer. The 27-year-old Dutch defensive-midfielder has signed a one-year contract until 2023.
“I had a lot of contact with the Fortuna management and was very interested right from the start,” said Hendrix. “At 27, I’m at a good age for a footballer, now I’d like to play a lot more minutes for a great club. I have the chance to do that in Düsseldorf.”
Hendrix joined Spartak Moscow from PSV in January 2021 for €500,000 and played 22 games across all competitions, before joining Feyenoord on a six-month loan in January.
During his time at Feyenoord, Hendrix scored one and created one in 14 games. The Dutchman also helped his side to finish runners-up in the UEFA Conference League.
Hendrix comes to Germany with plenty of experience. He played 239 games across all competitions for PSV, including 15 in the Champions League. The Dutchman is Fortuna Düsseldorf’s sixth signing of the summer as they look to achieve promotion back into the Bundesliga.
