With Kai Havertz ruled out of Germany’s matches this month through injury, Julian Nagelsmann has called up Jonathan Burkardt as his replacement.
Kai Havertz has been ruled out of Germany’s upcoming UEFA Nations League matches against Bosnia-Herzegovina and the Netherlands.
As revealed by the German Football Association, a knee injury will prevent Havertz from joining his German teammates.
Mainz striker Jonathan Burkardt has been announced as Havertz’s replacement.
The 24-year-old has been capped 44 times by Germany at youth level, but this is the first time he’s been called up to the senior side.
He has started the season in fine form, scoring six goals in seven games so far.
