Werder Bremen have today announced the signing of 27-year-old central defender Niklas Stark from Hertha Berlin.
Stark has signed a four-year contract in Bremen and joins on a free transfer after his Hertha contract expired.
“Niklas has been in our sights for a long time,” said Bremen’s Clemens Fritz. “Now there has been an opportunity to convince him of Werder and to get him to the Weser. With his 200 Bundesliga games, he already has a lot of experience that he will bring to us.”
Stark added: “I’m happy that I can be part of this club in the future and I would like to help Werder to establish itself permanently in the Bundesliga again.”
