According to a report by Fabrizio Romano, Galatasaray SK have agreed on a deal with AS Monaco for the fullback Ismail Jakobs (25). The left-back will join the Turkish side on loan with a €10 million obligation to buy
Jakobs has had a strong start to the season for Monaco having played in both of the club’s opening games where they recorded victories over AS Saint-Étienne and Olympique Lyonnais. Despite this, the Senegalese international could be gone before Sunday’s game against RC Lens.
Injuries curtail Ismail Jakobs’ 2023/24 season
The left-back who can also play more advanced roles made 23 appearances for Monaco across all competitions and at one stage of the season held down the starting spot on the left of Adi Hütter’s defence. However, injuries led to an inconsistent end to the campaign.
After returning to the team from the Africa Cup of Nations, Jakobs suffered a hamstring injury followed by a knee injury which saw him miss eight games and the end of the season.
