Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reports that RB Leipzig are prepared to rigorously pursue one of their old transfer targets.
With Mohammed Simikan’s departure from the German Red Bulls nearing, Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano claims that (contrary to reports emerging from other sources earlier today) SL Benfica center-half Antonio Silva is not the preferred replacement, Instead, per Romano, Rouven Schröder, Marcel Schäfer, and the RBL administrative team wish to actively pursue one of the targets his predecessor Max Eberl could not manage to snag.
Feyenoord’s Lutsharel Geertruida is once again being courted by the German Red Bulls. Romano reports that – with RB set to pocket approximately €45 million from the sale of Simakan – a play for the €32-million-valued Geertruida is once again a viable option. Simakan’s sale could potentially boost Leipzig’s summer inlays to well over €100 million. A positive transfer balance of approximately €60 million gives the club plenty of wiggle room.
