Bayern Munich boss Max Eberl has given an injury update on Leroy Sané.
Leroy Sane is yet to return to full training after undergoing successful surgery on the groin injury that caused him much concern last season.
And while the Bayern Munich winger appears to be making progress, it’s unlikely he’ll be back before the international break in September.
“I don’t think a week will make any difference to him,” Bayern board member for sport Max Eberl told reporters after Tuesday’s 4-0 friendly win over Grasshoppers.
“He has been struggling with this injury long enough and has been fighting in every game in the Champions League. The operation went well and we’re slowly phasing him back in.
“I don’t know if it makes sense to throw him in before the international break. He’d then have another 14 days to get fully fit.”
Bayern’s first game after the international break is against Holstein Kiel on 14 September. Before that, they face Wolfsburg and Freiburg.
