Disaffected VfL Bochum keeper Manuel Riemann has filed an official trade complaint against his club for not integrating him into team training.
After being dropped from the squad ahead of the 2023/24 Bundesliga promotion-relegation playoffs, long-time VfL Bochum keeper Manuel Riemann has been forbidden from training with Bochum’s first team. The 35-year-old has had to make do with the U21 sessions whilst the Revierklub ostensibly found a new taker for him. While there were rumored to be some sides interested in picking him up this summer, Riemann has remained on the VfL roster.
A labor court in Bochum confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that Riemann had filed a trade complaint against his club. Riemann wishes to be allowed to partake in full squad training again for the time being. The local arbitration body has confirmed that a hearing on the matter has been scheduled for this coming Friday at 12:20 p.m. Bochum have thus far not issued comment on the matter.
