Watch: Barcelona pair Vitor Roque & Thiago in moment of tension before AC Milan shootout

Footage stemming from La Liga giants Barcelona’s meeting with AC Milan has turned heads across the club’s fanbase on Wednesday.

This comes owing to a moment of contention between striker Vitor Roque, and assistant coach Thiago Alcântara.

Barca, for those who may have missed it, locked horns with Italian heavyweights AC Milan in the early hours of this morning.

The two sides ultimately played out a 2-2 draw, after early strikes on the part of Luka Jović and Christian Pulisic were cancelled out by a Robert Lewandowski brace.

Proceedings, in turn, headed to a penalty shootout, with Milan holding their nerve to notch four times to Barca’s three.

And yet, it was a moment in the buildup to the shootout, rather than the efforts from 12 yards themselves, which has since piqued widespread attentions across the day to date.

As much centered on the aforementioned pairing of Vitor Roque, and Thiago.

In footage which has since sparked widespread debate online, youngster Roque and coach Thiago were spotted in a clear disagreement, amid discussions surrounding Barcelona’s spot-kick takers.

Some have argued that Roque was clearly demanding that he be handed responsibility of one of the Blaugrana’s penalties, whilst others point towards the Brazilian – low on confidence at present – as having likely been rejecting the pleas of his coach to step up.

Either way, when all was said and done, Roque did step forward, and slotted away his effort from 12 yards.
