Serie A side Fiorentina are currently confident about signing Spanish goalkeeper David de Gea.
The ex-Manchester United man hasn’t played a game of professional game in over 12 months and hasn’t found a club, despite links with clubs. Genoa were offered a chance to sign him, but they have moved on from the potential approach.
La Nazione (via FV) have reported that Fiorentina have chosen De Gea as a goalkeeping signing and they had a couple of other options on their shortlist. New manager Raffaele Palladino is interested in bringing the Spaniard to the Franchi.
La Viola would have to find an agreement over his wages but they are gaining confidence about the move, with De Gea also interested in the transfer.
Genoa also had a chance to sign the Spaniard but De Gea didn’t meet the profiles that they usually sign, as they wanted a much younger goalkeeper for Alberto Gilardino’s project.
