According to Florian Plettenberg, there are three Bundesliga clubs fighting for the signing of US men’s national team defender Mark McKenzie.
It is understood that the clubs interested in luring the 25-year-old to the Bundesliga are Werder Bremen, Stuttgart, and Mainz.
However, Anderlecht have also been informed of McKenzie’s plans to leave Genk this summer, as the defender looks to take the next step up in his career.
As stated in the report, Blauw-Wit are looking to receive €3–€5 million for McKenzie, with just one year remaining on his contract at the club.
McKenzie joined Genk from the Philadelphia Union in the MLS in 2021, and he has since gone on to make 127 appearances for the Belgian outfit.
As well as this, the 25-year-old has been capped 13 times by the United States, where he has since gone on to become a two-time winner of the Concacaf Nations League.
