Serie A side Bologna can lose Joshua Zirkzee this summer without Manchester United potentially paying the player’s release clause.
United currently seem ahead of Milan in the race for the Dutchman, who has a release clause of about €40 million his deal and while the Rossoneri are keen on paying that, agent Kia Joorabchian’s commission demands are putting them off.
Il Resto del Carlino have reported (via TuttoBologna) about the possibility of United having to sign him without meeting Bologna’s release clause and how there is a possibility of that happening. Instead of paying the amount, United could also pay installments and deferred payments, leading to Bologna earning an amount that is higher than the €40 million clause.
The player’s clause is active till the beginning of August and can now be activated. Joorabchian was recently in Italy to understand if Milan come forward and hold new talks with him or not, but the Rossoneri didn’t step ahead and United are now well in the lead over other clubs.
