As reported by Marca, Real Sociedad could earn more than the €70m they received when they sold Alexander Isak to Newcastle two summers ago. In the deal, the two clubs agreed to a percentage of profit from next sale, meaning the La Liga side could receive more income if Isak is to move this summer.
Sociedad have a 10% sell on clause and this could be activated this summer with the Sweden international linked with a move away from St James’ Park. The Geordie team need to sell players in order to stay in line with the profit and sustainability regulations and Isak is attracting a lot of interest from other English sides.
Recent reports have suggested Chelsea are lining up a €136m package for the striker and this would pay €6.6m to the Txuriurdin entity. Arsenal also have strong interest in the Swede as they look to bolster their forward line.
Although Newcastle are in a delicate financial situation, they would command a large fee for the 24-year-old, who scored 25 goals and notched two assists in all competitions last season. This favours Sociedad as they would pocket even more of the transfer fee.
