While his loan move from Troyes was made permanent earlier this month, Mama Baldé (28) is on the transfer list at Olympique Lyonnais but has refused a move to John Textor’s fellow Eagle Football side Botafogo.
Thanks a solid season with Troyes, with 12 goals scored despite the club’s relegation, Mama Baldé earned a big move to Lyon last summer. Loaned with a buy option, the move has been made permanent despite having been used sparingly throughout the season, enjoying only four starts across the season and netting two goals while delivering three assists. The Guinea-Bissau international is, however, unlikely to remain at the club this summer.
According to a report from Foot Mercato, John Textor, Lyon’s president, tried to convince Baldé to join Botafogo, one of the numerous clubs he owns via his multi-ownership company Eagle Football. However, the winger isn’t interested in a move to the Brazilian side, despite the salary raise that Textor promised him. Lyon informed their player that they do not intend to rely on him next season, and are hoping for a fee between €6M and €7M. The former Troyes player is looking for a new challenge in Europe.
