How Real Betis could hand Barcelona a 2nd summer funds boost

Barcelona could find themselves the beneficiaries of a transfer between a pair of rival La Liga clubs this summer.

That’s according to Relevo, as cited by Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Real Betis and RCD Mallorca as the sides in question.

Incoming Mallorca head coach Jagoba Arrasate, it is understood, has set his sights on the signature of Betis star Ez Abde for next season.

The departing Osasuna boss has prior experience overseeing Abde’s wing wizardry, and is eager for a reunion at Son Moix over the months ahead.

And such any such deal come to fruition on a permanent basis, in line to benefit will be the aforementioned Barcelona.

The Camp Nou brass green-lighted Abde’s sale last summer, when the Moroccan linked up with Manuel Pellegrini’s Betis for a fee in the region of €7.5 million.

And, as part of this agreement, Barca secured for themselves a 50% sell-on clause.

Should the powers that be in Heliópolis decide to cut their losses after a disappointing first season for Abde with the club, the Blaugrana, in turn, would bring in some much-needed cash.

Any such development would mark the 2nd occasion on which Real Betis have afforded Barcelona a helping hand this summer, after the Catalans also profited from Chadi Riad’s move to Crystal Palace.
