It has now been officially announced that Napoli have completed the signing of Kim Min-jae from Fenerbahçe. The 25-year-old South Korean is considered a suitable replacement for Kalidou Koulibaly at Napoli.
The departure of Koulibaly, who has joined Chelsea, created a void in Napoli’s defence. Considering that, Kim Min-jae’s arrival could help the Naples-based side heave a sigh of relief ahead of the 2022/23 season.
Reports understand that Napoli have trigged Min-jae’s release clause worth around €19.5 million to secure the signing of the defender from the Turkish club.
As reported previously, the Korean is tempted by the idea of playing in the Champions League and wearing Napoli’s shirt. Juventus had taken note of the Min-jae before pursuing the road that led them to Bremer.
Napoli identify the former Beijing Guoan defender as a first-choice centre-back in Luciano Spalletti’s side.
It is understood that the player has signed a contract until June 2025 with an option for additional two years. At Napoli, he will be earning a salary of around €2.5 million per season.
