Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl confirms that Sébastien Haller has successfully undergone tumour surgery.
BVB released a video on Tuesday, where Kehl confirmed the news: “Fortunately, today I can say that the operation went well and that he is on a very good path.” No further information was provided.
However, as the video was taken during BVB’s training camp in Bad Ragaz, which ended on Saturday, it’s believed that the surgery could have taken place a few days ago.
At the beginning of last week, Haller returned home from camp after feeling unwell and was sent for testing. Following examinations, it was reported that they had discovered a tumour in the player’s testicles.
Last week, Haller tweeted a photo of himself in hospital explaining that step one was complete and thanked those who had sent him kind messages.
It’s still unclear what steps are ahead of Haller in his recovery but the football community will be there to support him every step of the way.
