In an interview on Sunday, Maximilian Mittelstädt spoke confidently about Germany’s chances of winning the Euros and his own chances of starting.
After arriving at Germany’s training camp in Blankenhain on Sunday, Maximilian Mittelstädt expressed his belief in winning Euro 2024 with Germany and starting for his country at the tournament.
“We all have a very good feeling. It will be a great ride, everyone is looking forward to it,” Mittelstädt told reporters.
“If we didn’t have the goal of winning the European Championship, we wouldn’t have to play. It’s every player’s dream,” he added.
After impressing for Stuttgart, Mittelstädt earned his first call-up to the national team in March, starting in both friendly victories over France and the Netherlands that month.
As a result, the 27-year-old is likely to be the starting left-back at the European Championship.
“I had two good games for the national team and had a good season. I’m in a position to help from the start.”
