A quartet of leading players at La Liga giants Barcelona have this week secured nominations for a prestigious individual award.
The prize in question? Globe Soccer’s Men’s Player of the Year.
Barcelona are of course fresh off an all-conquering domestic campaign in 2024/25, culminating in a league, cup and super cup.
Playing headline roles in as much were a whole host of Blaugrana stars, four of whom have in turn seen their efforts recognised this week.
As announced on Wednesday, all of Pedri, Lamine Yamal, Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski have been put forward for the Globe Soccer Player of the Year accolade.
The Barca quartet are joined in the running by a pair of players from arch rivals Real Madrid, in Vinícius Jr. and Kylian Mbappé.
Elsewhere, the likes of Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembélé, Paris Saint-Germain teammate Achraf Hakimi and Arsenal midfield standout Declan Rice have all secured places on the shortlist of nominees, too.
