Real Madrid is having a brilliant campaign in both domestic and European football as they have already won the Spanish Super Cup and the La Liga title. Now Los Blancos have set their eyes on the UEFA Champions trophy with an exciting final against Liverpool in Paris coming up later this week.
Carlo Ancelotti knows that his players have got just a good chance to do the treble this season but does have a few positions in his squad that needs strengthening going into the summer transfer window.
Here are three areas that Real Madrid should look to reinforce at the end of this season.
Midfield
The Madrid giants have got an aging midfield with both Luka Modric and Toni Kroos both entering the twilight years of their playing careers. Eduardo Camavinga is slowly coming into the fray but is still quite raw and would need time to develop himself into a reliable performer in top-flight football.
Thus, it is only logical for Ancelotti to target a new central midfielder who could come in and reduce the workload of his current first-choice midfielders at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
Right-Winger
Eden Hazard has once again failed to impress in the Spanish capital this season as he failed to be productive with his performances for Los Blancos over the past ten months. The Belgian talent is quite injury-prone and seems like a shadow of his former self these days.
Therefore, it makes sense for Ancelotti to cash in on Hazard this summer and bring in a suitable replacement who would be able to challenge Rodrygo and Marco Asensio for a regular spot at the Bernabeu next season.
Right-Back
Ancelotti has used Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez as his first-team right-backs for most of this season. Even though the pair has mostly performed well during this campaign, the newly crowned La Liga champions should still consider upgrading that position if they want to continue their dominance in both domestic football and in Europe over the next few years.
