Arsenal ace Oleksandr Zinchenko is among a number of players expected to leave the club this summer as part of the Gunners’ plans to build a “transfer war chest”, Daily Mail journalist Sami Mokbel has revealed.
With Mikel Arteta and his men looking increasingly likely to miss out on the Premier League title for a third consecutive season, frustrations are at their pinnacle within the club’s supporter base. The top brass is nonetheless expected to invest heavily in the transfer market to minimise the chances of this happening again next season.
Zinchenko, who is currently earning £150,000 per week, has fallen down the pecking order under Arteta this season, managing just two league starts and only 15 appearances in all competitions. He is likely to be one of the players heading to the club’s egress in the hopes of funding further new signings.
Zinchenko to Leave in Arsenal Squad Clearout
The 28-year-old’s importance has waned
Zinchenko arrived at the Emirates in July 2022 for a fee in the region of £32 million from Manchester City, and quickly made his way into the first-team as the first-choice left-back, but reocurring injuries meant he was unable to keep his place. As per Mokbel, he is now “expected to leave this summer”, as Arsenal look to “sell a number of players” to fund their transfer business.
Arsenal landed Riccardo Calafiori last summer who, although not as technically proficient as Zinchenko, makes up for it with his defensive qualities. Meanwhile, academy star Myles Lewis-Skelly has also leapfrogged Zinchenko in the pecking order as well.

With just under 300 league minutes played all season, Zinchenko himself has reportedly been “keen to leave” according to reports from Florian Plettenberg in the winter window. Atletico Madrid were in the race for his services at the time, while Borussia Dortmund and Galatasaray were also eyeing a move. It is believed that Arsenal value the player at €20m (£17m) plus add-ons.
Alongside the 28-year-old, Kieran Tierney is set to depart soon, while midfield duo Thomas Partey and Jorginho are also poised for exits as part of Arteta’s midfield rebuild this summer.
